#LIVINGROOMTODAY began in 2015 as an experimental audio-visual livestreaming art project. Created by Michael Walker (also known as Saint Michael, Fuckwalker, and smilebigforgod), it started with 24-hour webcam experiments in his living room and evolved into a globally connected series of IRL/URL happenings.

What It Was:
#LIVINGROOMTODAY was a monthly series of livestreamed, cross-city performances connecting artists and audiences worldwide.
- Multiple venues hosted simultaneous events linked via livestream
- Events were accessible both physically and online via livingroom.today
- Over 200 artists across 17 countries participated between 2015–2016
- Events ranged from gallery shows to yacht performances to living rooms
- Developed an evolving online community built around spontaneous participation

- Major events connecting NYC, London, LA, and Tokyo
- Tri-continental livestream including a yacht performance off Malibu
- Featured in Perform Chinatown: Rush Hour festival in Los Angeles
- Covered by Vice's Noisey and The Creators Project
- Hosted Beats 1 Radio segment featuring affiliated artists

What It Meant / Taught You:
#LIVINGROOMTODAY proved that true connection could exist online and offline at once. It pushed the boundaries of what a live show could be when the internet wasn't just a broadcast tool but a communal space.
It was an early proof that real-time, hybrid community events could be a new form of art and culture — years before they became commonplace.
